Ditch your 9-5, grow your new business and create connections with your customers that help everyone rise.

The world can feel like a divisive place right now, people in positions of authority are using their platforms to manipulate people's thinking, creating wedges between neighbors, family members, and friends in an effort to drive home a “me against them” mentality, creating a sense of scarcity and lack.

On the other end of the collective are those of us that know connection, humanity, and vulnerability are key to helping everyone rise and to create a space where we all thrive. We can rise together without stepping on or over one another.

Living in a society where everyone matters and is able to reach their glitter-filled dreams from childhood is possible. First, we must find our own purpose and meaning as individuals. For some, it’s through service in our families, at our schools, Churches, neighborhoods, jobs, and our broader communities. And for others, it’s to create businesses that create something new in the world. Both are important and needed.

A documentary from 2020, 97% owned claims that 97% of the world works for 3%. That’s insane!   More business owners are better for society and more diversity is needed. I love helping women develop their strategies and set up their online presence.

Every human who is willing to take ownership of their lives and accept the journey to find their purpose is needed. A great place to start is to show up with your gifts and give them away.

Hi, I’m Emily!

People have always classified me as “one of those creative types” and while for a long time I resisted the “creative title” I was drawn to creativity. I now know that creativity lives within each of us and the more ease you build into your life the more creativity will show up.

In high school I loved being part of the yearbook editorial staff, selling the ads, laying out designs, marking up pages with the old red grease pencils, and working with the team to meet our deadlines. Why I didn’t go to journalism school I will never know!

Instead, I ended up graduating from Film school at the University of North Texas, while working a multitude of part-time jobs, from waitressing to the management of a movie theater, until I eventually landed in a pet store. There I learned to bathe and groom dogs. Although not the original plan, I ended up working for that company for the next thirteen years. During that time I moved to Austin, TX  became Salon Manager, an Area Grooming trainer, opened a salon in a new location, and grew and developed the staff. There was a lot of it that I absolutely loved. I was good at it and I enjoyed working with our team. I loved to see the growth in others and was happy that I could play a small part in it.  I made quite a few four-legged friends who I adored and I looked forward to seeing their owners, too!

Spending twenty years in retail taught me the different facets of branding from within the big brands themselves. I learned how a company's culture is tied to their customers, how the attitudes and expectations at the top trickle down, affecting the company's culture, how customer service can create brand loyalty or tank it, and how you treat your employees matters.

Despite all the good, I never felt like I was supposed to land there forever. I enrolled at Austin Community College, where I got my associate's degree in Graphic Design. As soon as I stepped foot in that first classroom it felt right. I loved my new major and loved the intimacy of smaller classes. Three years later I stepped down as manager, finished up my degree, got married, and started freelancing.

As I worked with more clients I started to notice a pattern that while they were really good at what they did, figuring out where to place their focus and how to use the different tools, i.e. their website and social media for growth, wasn’t second nature. It wasn’t for me either.

In between becoming a mom and working with my design clients, I started taking online classes, listening to podcasts, and reading books to better understand the online marketing industry and branding. I’ve learned a lot of fancy terminologies, met some amazing people, learned how to write a sales page, and about different systems and programs to get you there.

After learning all the tips and tricks, I’ve found the most effective tool is something we all are capable of and that’s an authentic connection.

Learning to put ourselves out there can feel scary. We have moments where we get stuck in our own heads, creating inaction. When we take the time to articulate what we stand for, who we can help, and why it matters the details become clear.  Once we have clarity,  we can start to visually communicate the brands essence. If you're ready to get started subscribe to my email list for actionable steps that will move you closer to your goals.

Let’s have fun, make space for possibilities, and create a world where we are all better together.
